In the wake of the thunderstorm alert, UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore has ordered closure of schools in the UT Chandigarh after 12 noon on May 7. He has asked the school and college managements to be cautious.
The Met Department issued warning on Sunday that thunderstorm, along with squall and hail, would hit Chandigarh and Haryana on May 7 & 8. Meanwhile, Haryana Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma announced a two-day holiday in govt and private schools starting Monday.
