Panchkula | Now, First Aid Test Mandatory For Driving License

How many of us knows the nuances of first-aid? Sadly very few. This is one major reason why many deaths occur in road accidents which could have been avoided had anyone knew about giving first-aid until formal medical help reached. Making the knowledge of first-aid itself mandatory for driving license in Panchkula, the administration has made a commendable move to save lives.

Now, Haryana transport department has made clearing a first aid training course compulsory for applying new driving license or renewing an already existing one. The applicant will be trained and his performance evaluated by Red Cross Society.

As per Sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Sushil Kumar, the order has been passed keeping in mind the safety of the passengers.

Where & When Training will be given

The Old Age Home run by the Red Cross Society, Sector 15, Panchkula would conduct this training. It will be held on all five working days of the week from 1 PM to 5 PM.

Anil Joshi, Secretary, Red Cross Society, said that the Transport Commissioner had released the above order. The facility has started at all centres throughout Haryana. Training will be imparted to 40 persons at a time. Candidates will be guided on how to give first aid during an accident and how to save a life if emergency arises.

Certificate of participation will also be given to the participants in the training.
