Traffic Diversions and Parking Alerts Issued Due to Rose Festival 2018 in Chandigarh

UT Chandigarh traffic police is on their toes making city beautiful’s most awaited gala celebration of roses, Rose Festival, a pleasurable experience for the people. From February 23 to 25, traffic diversions and parking advisory has been released.

  • CLOSED: The road stretch from Sector 16/17 light point till Matka Chowk will be closed for vehicles on February 24 and 25.
    • ALTERNATIVE ROUTE From cricket stadium to Matka Chowk:
      • Turn right from Sector 16/17 light point
      • Turn left from Lyons light point
      • Straight to Hotel Taj light point
      • Then turn left onto Madhya Marg towards Matka Chowk
    • ALTERNATIVE ROUTE From Matka Chowk to Cricket Stadium:
      • Take left towards Hotel Taj light point towards Lyons light point
      • Turn right towards 16/17 light point
      • Then take lef towards Cricket Stadium chowk

Designated parking earmarked are:

  • Parking area backside MC office, Sector 17
  • in front of MC office towards Shivalik View Hotel
  • Near Sector 17 bus stand
  • Circus Ground, Sector 17
  • In front of Hotel Taj Parking

  • Shanti Kunj and Rose Garden parking

Challan for Wrong Parking

The police has advised against wrong parking and requested visitors to not to consume too much space in parking

Parking in ‘No Parking’ zones/roads will invite vehicles’ being towed away or clamped
