Festive Season On, Shatabdi’s Fare Increased By 27%

All the city people who are planning this Diwali with their beloved ones will have to spend some more bucks on their journey. As the long distance trains from Chandigarh city are packed due to the auspicious Diwali fest which would be lighten up on October 19 across the country. According to a Hindustan Times report, most of the shatabdi trains are running vacant, still, fares have risen around 27%.

With the revised fares, a single chair car seat in the shatabdi from the city will cost around Rs 900 while to reserve an executive seat, one would have to spend Rs 1255. Presently, all the passengers are shelling out Rs 150 to 200 extra bucks for a ticket.

Normally, railways charge up Rs 710 for a chair seat from in the Shatabdi Express for Chandigarh to Delhi, while Rs 1100 for a executive seat.

Brief about the base prices- 

  1. Commuters travelling at noon train from Chandigarh had to payout Rs 850 for a chair car and Rs 1215 for the executive one.
  2. According to a HT report, Kalka-Shatabdi Eexpress price for a chair car was Rs 850 from Chandigarh to Delhi and Rs 1215 for executive seat.
  3. And, for booking tickets in the evening shatabdi express from the city to the national capital, the ticket price for a single chair seat was Rs 790 and Rs 1305 for executive seat.
