After NGT Crackers’ Ban in Delhi, Dealers Turn to Punjab for Profits

After National Green Tribunal (NGT) order banning the sale and use of firecrackers in Delhi and adjoining areas starting midnight of November 9 to November 30, wholesalers are dumping their stock in Punjab, eyeing profits. The prices of crackers have dropped by over 20% since.

The order states anyone caught bursting firecrackers during the ban in Delhi, he/she can be sentenced to 1.5-6 years in jail.

Punjab has still not banned crackers, only issued advisory to avoid bursting crackers and follow COVID-19 protocol.

The wholesalers are offering good discount and delivery services to high demand areas especially like Ludhiana, Patiala, Pathankot, Jallandhar.
