Himachal Imposes Night Curfew in 4 Districts to Combat COVID-19


The recent spurt in COVID-19 cases in the state has forced Himachal Pradesh government to impose restrictions once again. 

Night curfew from 8pm to 6 am in four districts of Shimla, Kullu, Mandi and Kangra. These four are fast emerging as Covid hotspots. The night curfew will continue till December 15, when the COVID-19 situation will be reviewed again. 

In last fortnight, Shimla and Mandi had reported almost 2000 cases with an average of 10 deaths daily. 

Also, the state cabinet has decided to keep the educational institutes closed, both for teachers as well as students till December 31. Till now, it was mandatory for teachers to be present in the school and students from Class 9 to 12 were allowed to come. The final examinations that were to take place in December will now be held in March.

The government offices will run with half manpower on rotation basis till 15th December. Jan Manch & political rallies are postponed till 15th December. Outdoor functions are also restricted with limited manpower.

Wearing masks in public places has been made mandatory and the violator will be fined Rs 1000.
