With COVID Cases Rising, Chandigarh Admn Impose Restrictions on Social Gatherings


With new Covid cases crossing 100 now, Chandigarh administration has taken decisions imposing restrictions on gatherings in Chandigarh.

• Maximum numbers for indoor gathering will be 100 or 50% of the capacity of the venue, whichever is lower. For, outdoor gathering, the number has been kept to 200.

• Primary schools to be closed until the situation of Corona infection improves in Chandigarh. UT Administrator directed the school authorities to talk to the parents, so that their children take proper precautions against covid.

• UT Administrator directed that Sector 48 hospital should be re-opened to accommodate the increasing number of corona cases. He also desired that Covid Care Centres earlier opened in Panchkarma (Dhanwantry Hospital) and Sood Dharamshala should be kept in readiness.
