Starting Today, Hefty Fine in Mohali If Found Wasting Water

Watering your beautiful lawn or washing your car during morning water supply hours can land you in big trouble now.

The Mohali Municipal Corporation, starting from April 5, 2017 to June 30, 2017, has banned all such activities that clearly lead to wasting water during morning water supply hours.

Even washing courtyards, installing tullu/pressure pumps directly on the water supply lines has been forbidden. Residents have been asked to make sure that no leakage of water takes place on their property in any manner, including overflow from terrace tanks and coolers.

Penalty if found guilty

First time: A notice will be sent to the person defying the ban orders

Second time: If the offence is repeated, a fine of Rs 2,000 will be imposed.

Third time: Violation repeated for the third time will lead to the disconnection of the water supply and a fine of Rs 5,000.

Be vigilant and responsible. You know the water crisis the region is going through. Voluntarily participate in conserving water rather than protesting the fines.
