To generate funds, PU decided an average of 12.5% fee hike for all courses of university departments and its regional centres for the session 2017-18. However, the fee for some courses has multiplied five to ten times.

It means from the coming session beginning from July, the tuition fee will be increased by Rs 2,000-Rs 82,000 (depending on the course).

THE NEW FEE STRUCTURE (2017-18)

  • MSc (Microbial biotech): Rs 45,000
  • B Pharma: Rs 50,000
  • MA Social work: Rs 35,000
  • MA Journalism: Rs 30,000
  • LLM: Rs 25,000
  • 4-year BDS course at Dr HSJID and hospital, PU: Rs 1,50,000
  • BA/BCom: Rs 10,000
  • BE Chemical: Rs 90,000
  • BA/LLB, UILS: Rs 75,000

ONLY APPLICABLE FOR STUDENTS ADMITTED AFRESH

Freshers joining academic session 2017-18 will feel the heat the most, as the new fee structure applies to them. Existing students will see an increase of 5% on tuition fee.

This will also be subject to a minimum increase of Rs 500 and maximum Rs 1,200.
