Chandigarh Admn Slammed for Mishandling COVID-19 Spread in Bapu Dham Colony

PGI experts in their report has slammed Chandigarh Admn for not handling COVID-19 spread in Bapu Dham Colony efficiently.

Infact, Mumbai’s Dharavi (with 10 lakh population) is better managed. Infection rate there is 0.15%. While in Bapu Dham Colony (with population 60,000) infection rate is 0.26%.

The contacts of the positive cases were kept in their houses till they also tested positive, the report said.
The report that a team of PGI experts headed by Prof J S Thakur, community medicine department, and School for Public Health prepared has been submitted to UT Chandigarh Administrator V P Singh Badnore.

Chandigarh Administration had asked for PGIMER, Chandigarh’s opinion on containing increasing COVID-19 positive cases.
